Kids' movies are weird...

So I spent most of yesterday watching children's movies. Why? Cuz I wanted to. :iconketari: and I went to see Spiderwick at a cheap theater. I luuuved it, but it was awfully gruesome for a kid's movie. Heads exploding, limbs getting hacked off, green blood everywhere. Awesome. But I fell bad for anyone under 13 who was there, would have scared the DAYLIGHTS out of me.

After that we went to her house and watched Fern Gully, which I hadn't seen since I was a kid. That one DID scare the daylights out of me when I was a kid. Hexxus's skeleton and freaky/horny song was a little too much for baby me. Then we watched the End of Flutter Valley, a My Little Pony movie from the 80s or 90s or somethin. Also VERY strange. There's really too much to go in to there, really. Cross-species romance, racism, emotional abuse, paganism...

A few days ago at the kid's museum where I work, a little girl ran over to the stage, pulled on a bunny costume, then looked at the other kids in her class happily and said "Ok, I'm the rich girl, who wants to be the sailor??"

Lastly, I'm totally working on Oriyan! tonight, so expect a new page in the next day or two.

Kids movies ARE strange, especially the older ones. They could get away with stuff then that they never could now.

Fern Gully scared me as well!! XD another weird one to watch is the Rainbow Brite movie.

Would that Pony movie by any chance deal with a villain who was a beautiful cat woman? I remember something like that in a My Little Pony movie that used to be my favorite thing to watch... it was awfully strange though!! XD

Nah, that was a different one. This one had the three witches from the volcano of doom, one of whom the ponies emotionally abuse terribly. "If you help us, we'll make it so your mother loves you!"

lol, yes. The best part was that they tricked her into letting them go, then left her in a net without teaching her any of the things they promised. Haha, Draggle, you're an idiot! No wonder your mom hates you!
